Ellis Grace

Ellis Grace was baptized at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Sherman on June 6, 2010. She wore a beautiful gown that has been in Brandon's family for generations (the same one that Brandon wore when he was baptized). Brandon's mom hosted a lovely reception at her house afterward. It was a very special day, we feel very blessed.

Finley, of course, stole the show at church. When the minister took Ellis and walked down the isle to show her to the congregation, Finley was very upset and yelled out, "Mommy, go get her", she thought he was stealing Ellis, everyone had a big laugh!

Big eyes!

Playing at the Lake

Okay, so one exciting Saturday night, we decided we were hungry and went to eat dinner at this cafeteria by our house around 5:30. Yes, we are eighty years old! Needless to say, we had some time to kill after our early bird special so we stopped by White Rock on the way home to let Finley run around and throw some rock into the lake.

Finley was so excited to see these horses. When they left, she told us they were going back to the barn to see the cows!

Back to School

Things have been really crazy this last month since we headed back to school, but we are getting it figured out. We started back to school on June 1st, just in time the the CDC's Wild West Summer kick-off. Finley is having so much fun and Ellis is being spoiled rotten by her beloved Mrs. Martha! She is the only baby in the infant room this summer and is getting lots of attention. Everyone at school has made the transition so easy. Ellis never missed a beat and is so happy and content. She plays all day with Mrs. Martha and even gets to visit Finley in her classroom and Mommy in my office.

Finley is very protective of Ellis and is quick to tell all of her friends when they get too close that "Baby Ellis is her baby sister". And of course, I love going to see Ellis during the day, usually 2 to 3 times when she is ready for her feedings. I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful school and wonderful people to look after my girls while I am working. And knowing they are right there with me is so comforting. Thanks to everyone, it really does take a village!

Back to Work

Ellis will be 11 weeks old on Friday and on Tuesday, we head back to work. It has been so great to be able to stay home with her this long. She is such a sweet baby. I don't want to jinx myself, but she is sleeping so well and that will make it easier to go back to work. The best part is that she gets to come to work with me! One of the best things about my job is the fabulous on-site childcare! I can see her as much as I want and Finley is right next door so she can see her sister too! Wish me luck getting out the door with two little girls every morning...
